It’s the beginning of February, which means another (whirlwind) trip to Tucson for the largest gem show in the world. The weather was beautiful- hello 80*- which is not always the case. On our last day, as we headed to the airport bleary from looking at stones for 3 days, we’ll admit, a cocktail pool-side sounded pretty delicious. We left armed with our color and trend forecasting and returned with armloads of summer stones, more diamonds and the inspiration for autumn’s collection. (So exciting!) We also slipped out of our routine and tried a couple new restaurants: Reilly, recommended as Tucson’s best pizza, and La Cocina, touted as “happiness”. The Roasted Squash and Ricotta dish at Reilly made us swoon and the pizza was worthy of the recommendation. As far as charming locations go, La Cocina has it in spades. To sit in the courtyard, al fresco, listening to live music… in January, hard to beat! And while the trip was fast, furious, and exhausting, it was also inspiring and exhilarating and we couldn’t wait to get home to get to work. Until next year, Tucson!
